Your dedication has shaped not only this institution but also the lives of countless students and alumni who have passed through its doors. We are forever grateful to you, Sir, for your enduring support and visionary leadership.”
She added that it only takes a true leader, a custodian of the land, to offer their land for the greater good.
“The past 70 years would not have been possible without your heritage, your people, and those who came before you, Sir.”
Na Turaga na Qaranivalu, Ratu Inoke Takiveikata, recalled the College’s humble beginnings at the Navuso Agricultural School.
He said they recognised the national importance of advancing agricultural education, and the vision to expand these studies ultimately led to the birth of the Fiji College of Agriculture.
This land, rich in potential and history, became the cornerstone of an institution dedicated to nurturing knowledge and promoting prosperity for our nation.
“As the custodian of this land, I feel deeply proud that a piece of my people’s heritage has been dedicated to such a noble purpose. Together, we have laid the foundation for growth, not just for this College, but for the countless individuals who have passed through its doors.”
College Dean Dr Kaliova Ravuiwasa thanked all the alumni for their presence despite the rain, acknowledging the special role they play in the continued success of the institution.
“To all of our alumni, many of whom have traveled great distances to join us today, you are the heart and soul of this College. You are living proof of CAFF’s impact on individuals, families, and communities over the years. Your achievements, both here in Fiji and across the world, continue to inspire current and future generations of students.
“This celebration is as much yours as it is ours, and we are deeply grateful for your ongoing support and contributions to the legacy of CAFF.”
