Synergizing Learning & Teaching Enhancement and Flexible & E-Learning @ FNU

The Centres for Learning & Teaching Enhancement (CLTE) and Flexible & E-Learning (CFEL) held their inaugural workshop with the Pro Vice Chancellor Learning & Teaching (PVCLT), Associate Deans Learning & Teaching of the five Colleges, Managers from the Quality Office, Acting University Librarian, Academic Office and Institutional Planning. Centering on the theme of ‘Synergizing Learning & Teaching Enhancement (LTE) and Flexible & E-Learning (FEL) @ FNU’, the two-day workshop provided an opportunity for both Centres to update the Colleges on progress of their activities. The team members from CLTE made individual presentations on First Year Experience App (FYE App), Early Alert Response System (EARS), Technology Enabled Learning Community of Practice (TEL Cop), Succeed@FNU, English Language Hub, Peer Assisted Learning (PAL), and Course Experience Survey. It was particularly eye opening for the team in terms of gaining deeper insight into the activities of the various stakeholders at FNU that were connected to core activities on the ground.

Stakeholders presented their updates as a precursor to identifying the areas requiring better synergy with CLTE and CFEL. By the end of the two days, through rigorous discussions, constructive feedback and informative presentations, it was clear that cohesion was key to gaining more awareness and traction at FNU about LTE and FEL activities and its importance for learners and teachers at FNU.  Breakout sessions solicited tangible plans for what the Colleges required of the two Centres in terms of their professional development needs, earmarking essential programmes for blended learning, and identifying key courses for Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) support. The Centres acknowledge PVCLT’s support for providing such an important platform.
