Eligible Fijians can Apply Now to undertake a free short course at the Fiji National University (FNU) through the Reskilling and Upskilling initiative.
FNU Vice-Chancellor, Professor Lyn Karstadt said the short courses will be offered from January 2023 and will allow students to gain skills in fields that could enhance their employment opportunities.
“There are 25 short courses which will be offered at FNU’s College of Business, Hospitality and Tourism Studies (CBHTS), College of Engineering, Science and Technology (CEST) and National Training and Productivity Centre (NTPC),” Professor Karstadt said.
“I encourage all eligible Fijians to apply now to secure their spots for the first round of short courses that will begin early next year.”
“Upskilling and reskilling programmes enable people and organisations to improve productivity and enhance employee performance as more workers become multi-skilled.”
Additional offerings of the free short courses will be announced in the coming months.
The courses offered are as follows;
National Training and Productivity Centre (NTPC)
The application closing date for the NTPC short courses is Monday, 9 January 2023.
College of Business, Hospitality and Tourism Studies (CBHTS)
College of Engineering, Science and Technology (CEST)
The application closing date for the CBHTS and CEST short courses is Monday, 30 January 2023.
Criteria
To qualify for the Free Reskilling and Upskilling courses at FNU, prospective students will have to complete an application form and submit it with the following documents: a self-declaration of unemployment, Valid Photo ID, TIN Details and Birth Certificate.
