Students got the chance to apply for jobs and attachments on the spot at the Careers Fair
The Fiji National University (FNU) proudly revived its Careers Fair this year after seven years, reaffirming its strong commitment to preparing students for the workforce and strengthening ties with industry and employer partners.
The 2025 FNU Careers Fair, held at the Nasinu Campus and officially opened by the Director Academic Learning and Teaching, Mr Rusiate Vakaloloma, marks a significant milestone for the University as the event returns for the first time since 2018 after being paused due to the COVID-19 pandemic, reaffirming FNU’s commitment to employability and industry engagement.
In his opening address, Mr Vakaloloma highlighted that the Careers Fair is a vital platform designed to support students in transitioning from university to the workforce while gaining valuable exposure to professional environments.

“At FNU, we firmly believe in providing students with the best possible experience. Every teaching and learning session, along with supporting programmes such as this, complements our students’ educational journey and prepares them to step confidently into the world of work,” Vakaloloma said.
The Director acknowledged the valuable role of industry partners, employers, and professional organisations in shaping Fiji’s future workforce. He commended their ongoing support and collaboration, describing their presence at the event as a reflection of FNU’s strong industry partnerships and collective vision for national development.
“Your participation today is helping us to build bridges between education and employment; we are collectively paving the way for a sustainable and prosperous future for Fiji,” Mr Vakaloloma added.
He encouraged students to take full advantage of the opportunities available at the fair, reminding them that such events are designed to guide, inspire, and prepare them for their future careers.
