The Fiji National University (FNU) has successfully concluded its 2025 Open Day, a three-day celebration of learning, innovation, and discovery that attracted more than 15,000 students, teachers, parents, and community members across all major campuses.
Held under the theme “Crafting Futures Together,” the event showcased FNU’s diverse academic programmes, cutting-edge research, and career pathways, reaffirming the University’s commitment to developing a skilled and future-ready workforce for Fiji and the Pacific.

The Open Day was hosted across FNU’s Nasinu, Natabua, Ba, and Naduna campuses, welcoming students from over 120 secondary schools nationwide. The final day at Nasinu Campus saw the participation of Saint John’s College, Lomawai Secondary School, and Ratu Kadavulevu School.
Students engaged in exhibitions, interactive demonstrations, and career guidance sessions that provided valuable insights into study options and employment opportunities. For many, the experience clarified their academic ambitions.
“The Open Day gave me a clearer vision of the pathway I want to take to achieve my dream career,” said Simione Labai, a student from RKS.
Teresia Tuivuna, 19, of Saint John’s College, shared her excitement about pursuing nursing.
“It’s good to know what’s expected so I can prepare for university life and my future career.”

FNU’s Pro-Vice-Chancellor Research and Innovation, Professor Paul Iji, said, “Over the past three days, we’ve seen the dreams of our young people come alive — their curiosity, determination, and excitement remind us that education is about opening doors and helping every student realise their potential.”
