The Fiji National University (FNU) is preparing to welcome thousands of prospective students, parents, teachers, and community members to its annual Open Day in October.

The theme for this year is “Crafting Futures Together.”

The Open Day will be held as follows:

  • Naduna Campus, Natabua Campus, and Bonunaqwele Campus in Namaka: October 2 and 3
  • Nasinu Campus: October 2, 3, and 4

The FNU Vice-Chancellor Professor Unaisi Nabobo-Baba says the event reflects the University’s commitment to developing pathways for future leaders in diverse fields such as medicine, engineering, education, business, agriculture, and more.

“Our Open Day is designed to showcase the opportunities available at the FNU and to assist students in making informed decisions about their future studies. It also provides parents and guardians with an opportunity to learn more about the support systems that are in place to ensure student success,” she said.

“FNU Open Day enables visitors to gain first-hand information from lecturers and current students about academic life and the wider campus experience. The Open Day serves as a vital platform for high school students to receive career guidance as they prepare for tertiary education.”

Professor Nabobo-Baba stated that a wide range of activities has been organised to engage visitors throughout the event.

“Visitors will have the opportunity to participate in campus tours, ROC market, view interactive displays, attend live demonstrations, enjoy cultural performances, and access information booths from all Colleges and support divisions. Staff and students will also provide guidance on programmes, scholarships, and student services.”

The University will further highlight its regional and international networks, research initiatives, and industry partnerships, reaffirming its role as the national university with a regional vision.
