Fiji National University (FNU) is proud to announce the launch of the FNU Foundation, a transformative initiative designed to expand educational opportunities, foster research, and provide essential support for underprivileged students.

The Foundation will officially be launched on Wednesday, 2 April, 2025, at FNU’s Namaka Campus in Nadi, marking a significant step toward making higher education more accessible and sustainable for all students.

The FNU Foundation will focus on securing long-term financial support through contributions from businesses, alumni, and donors locally and internationally. These funds will be directed toward scholarships, research, and community-focused initiatives, with a special emphasis on ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent all deserving students from pursuing their academic goals.

FNU Vice-Chancellor, Professor Unaisi Nabobo-Baba, had emphasised the importance of this initiative, stating, “The FNU Foundation is about creating meaningful partnerships that will provide the necessary resources for disadvantaged students to succeed. It’s also a platform for supporting research and innovation that will benefit not only Fiji but also the global community. We firmly believe that no student should be held back by financial constraints.”

She also highlighted the Foundation’s role in enhancing the university’s long-term financial sustainability and aligning educational efforts with Fiji’s national development goals.

The launch event will bring together key stakeholders, including government officials, corporate donors, alumni, and FNU representatives, who will discuss the Foundation’s critical role in shaping Fiji’s educational future. The event will feature keynote speeches, a corporate pledge moment, and a tour of FNU’s facilities, including the Coffee Haven, the Veilomani Closet, and Veilomani Pantry.
