The Fiji National University’s (FNU) 2021 Virtual Open Week will provide participants an insight into the wide range of study opportunities available both in Higher Education (HE) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

Participants will be able to make an informed decision on what they want to study and dive deeper into the programmes details and entry requirements. They will also explore the various employment opportunities available following the completion of their programme of study, which would help determine their next step.

Below are College details and some study options available at FNU:

College of Engineering, Science and Technology (CEST)

The College of Engineering, Science and Technology (CEST) is one of the largest College at FNU that offers both Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and Higher Education programmes in Engineering, Science and Technology, ranging from Certificate III to Doctor of Philosophy’s (PhD).

The College’s goal is to produce graduates who are qualified with the right skills and are ready to be engaged in the field of work that they have been trained in. CEST encourages “hands-on” training components in the workshops and labs that simulate the ‘real work’ environment and we work closely with the relevant industries to produce quality graduates to meet their human resources need and their capacity for the future.

The College of Engineering, Science and Technology is a key driver for progress and development in the country and we invite prospective students to play their role in the nation’s future by selecting one of the 100 programmes in various disciplines on offer.

College of Business, Hospitality and Tourism Studies (CBHTS)

The College of Business, Hospitality and Tourism Studies (CBHTS) is committed to quality and excellence in teaching, research and policy, and actively engaging with the community. As a dynamic learning environment, CBHTS continually reviews and refines curricula and offers comprehensive programmes at Certificate, Diploma, Degree and Postgraduate levels to meet all aspects of practical and applied management relevant to all levels of industry and business organisations. The College offers traditional fulltime programmes as well as evening programmes for working students.

In the TVET stream, the College offers programmes in the areas of: Office Administration, Front Line Management, Visual Merchandising, Pastry, Cookery, Restaurant Services, Accommodation and Front Office Operations. Our general business programmes in each of the core business disciplines for Higher Education (HE) programmes include: Accounting, Economics, Finance, Customs, Merchandising, Insurance, Business Management, Human Resource Management, Hotel Management and Marketing.

College of Humanities and Education (CHE)

Students interested in the field of education and humanities subjects will find a course at FNU’s College of Humanities and Education (CHE) suited to their study and career ambitions.

The College offers a diverse range of programmes from Certificate to PhD levels, with a hands-on industrial attachment components providing students with the relevant industry skills and knowledge.

The programmes range in areas from Teaching, Childcare, Music, Film and Television, Graphic Design, Library Services, Language and Social Policy, to name a few.

Registration

Year 12 and Year 13 students, those who wish to reskill and upskill their qualifications and interested participants can register for FNU’s upcoming Virtual Open Week (VOW) by visiting the FNU website on www.fnu.ac.fj
