CETVET Dean Salabogi Mavoa with Kelepi Selekawa after he received his provisional offer letter at Derrick Campus on 06 December, 2024.

When Kelepi Selekawa heard that the College of Engineering, Technical, Vocational Education, and Training was organising a Programme and Career Consultation, he knew he should attend.

Attending the consultation proved to be a great decision for him, as he was able to receive his provisional offer letter.

Selekawa hails from Tonia Village in Tailevu, with maternal links to Lutu Village in Naitasiri.

He is currently a Year 13 student at Naiyala Secondary School.

He enrolled in the Diploma in Land Surveying (Level 6) programme.

“I was listening to the radio when I heard about the consultation, and I made sure I was here. I knew this was a good opportunity to ask questions and get them answered,” Selekawa said.

“I’m glad I came today. It’s great that these consultations take place so parents can accompany their children and learn more about the career choices available to them.”

Selekawa had attended the consultation with his father at Derrick Campus in Samabula.

“This is something parents need to take advantage of. When I look around, I see representatives from various schools within CETVET, which is a good thing,” he said.

“This should be done more frequently, and the team should also travel to rural areas.”

The consultation is a one-day event.
