A total of 57 participants successfully completed the inaugural five-day Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Business Productivity and Innovation Course, organised by the Fiji National University’s (FNU) National Training and Productivity Centre (NTPC). The training took place at the Holiday Inn in Suva and concluded on Friday, 31 October 2025.

The course provided an in-depth exploration of both the fundamentals and cutting-edge aspects of AI, covering topics such as machine learning operations and the application of AI in business environments to boost productivity, optimise workflows, and foster innovation. This programme marked a significant milestone in professional development, underlining AI’s strategic role as an enabler for organisations seeking to stay competitive in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

“This programme has not merely been about understanding algorithms or data models; it has been about realising how technology can empower smarter decisions, enhance efficiency, and unlock creativity across all sectors. AI is not here to replace human potential, but to amplify it,” explained Vicky Narayan, NTPC’s National Productivity and Industry Innovation Manager.

Throughout the five-day course, participants engaged in real-world case studies, group discussions, and practical sessions designed to encourage critical thinking about AI’s transformative potential within the workplace.

Venina Ralagi, Head of Project Management Office at the Water Authority of Fiji, highlighted the programme’s emphasis on responsible and ethical AI use.
