Ms Penina Cirikiyasawa

Ms Penina Cirikiyasawa is a retired senior civil servant and seasoned public policy expert with a distinguished career spanning more than 34 years of service at the national level.

Throughout her career, she served in several key government ministries, including the Ministry of Health, Public Service Commission, Ministry of Public Utilities, including the Department of Water and Sewerage and the Department of Energy, as well as the Ministry of Fisheries and Forestry.

Her responsibilities included providing policy advice to both Ministers and Permanent Secretaries on a wide range of portfolio matters, including the review of policies and legislation, as well as overseeing their promulgation and implementation.

Her work also involved regular participation in regional and international conferences and meetings focused on strengthening effective and efficient service delivery and public sector performance.

Ms Cirikiyasawa retired from public service in January 2013 after serving as Deputy Permanent Secretary for the Ministries of Fisheries and Forestry.
