Dr Adi Alisi Talatoka Vudiniabola

Dr Alisi Talatoka Vudiniabola is a registered nurse, academic, and consultant. She is currently a consultant at Elim SurgiHealth Consultancy and serves as an Academic Leader and Tutor with the Aniva Nursing Leadership Programme in New Zealand, where she continues to teach clinical leadership, professional practice, and research methods at postgraduate level. She also mentors, supervises, and examines higher degree candidates and research projects.

Dr Vudiniabola previously served as Associate Professor and Head of School for Nursing at the Fiji National University’s College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences from 2016 to 2021. A career nurse educator, she has taught locally and internationally for more than 35 years in the areas of professional practice, clinical leadership, health systems, and research. She has also served as a consultant to various higher education institutions across the Pacific and has been an author, curriculum designer, and presenter at local, regional, and international conferences focusing on Pacific and Indigenous health and education.

Dr Vudiniabola specialises in political systems and governance, clinical leadership, educational research, curriculum development, analysis, and evaluation. She is the immediate past Board Member of the International Council of Nurses (ICN), representing the Western Pacific and South-East Asian region from 2021 to 2025, and is also the immediate past President of the Fiji Nursing Association.

She formerly served as a member of the Fiji Nursing Council, Chair of the Nursing Professional Education and Standards Committee under the Fiji Nursing Council, and a member of the Higher Education Commission Fiji Qualifications Council. She currently serves as a Board Member of the Na Hina Trust.

Dr Vudiniabola is a strong advocate for equity in health, particularly for vulnerable populations such as women and children, as well as improving the quality of life of the elderly. She continues to devote her work to developing strategies that address wellness and improve the quality of life for Pacific peoples living with non-communicable (NCD) and other chronic diseases. She also currently serves as a Board Member of the Commonwealth Nurses and Midwives Federation (CNMF) for the Asia-Pacific region.
