Dr Joseph Veramu, the Fiji National University (FNU) Director of Strategic Planning and Development, holds a Bachelor of Education, A Master of Philosophy (MPhil), and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the University of the South Pacific (USP) and a Master of Science (MSc) from London South Bank University.
Beginning his career as a high school teacher and later a Lecturer in Education at USP, he became the Head of Continuing Education (now Pacific Technical and Further Education [TAFE]) and Director of USP Lautoka Campus. His professional journey includes roles at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF).
At FNU, Dr Veramu has served as a Part-Time Consultant at the College of Humanities, Education, and Law (CHEL), focusing on higher education research, formulating annual work plans, and monitoring and evaluation, as well as securing grants for CHEL projects.
