Dr. Joseph Veramu is currently serving as the Acting Dean of the College of Humanities, Education and Law (CHEL). He holds a PhD in Social Science/Geography Curriculum Differentiation from the University of the South Pacific (USP), awarded in 2007; a Master of Science in Environmental Science Education/Development Studies from London South Bank University (1999); a Master of Philosophy in Non-Formal Education and Community Development from USP (1991); and a Bachelor of Education from USP (1984).
He has served in senior leadership roles, including Acting Pro Vice Chancellor – Corporate Services and Director of Strategic Planning and Development.
Dr. Veramu’s extensive career encompasses curriculum development, higher education consultancy, governance, and international projects with organisations including UNDP, UNICEF, UNESCO, and Transparency International. He has also contributed significantly to research, publications, and policy development in the areas of education, integrity, and community development across Fiji and the Pacific.
