The Division of Human Resources is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Donald Wilson as Acting Pro-Vice-Chancellor Research and Innovation, effective from 1 July 2026.

Dr Wilson is an accomplished academic, researcher and medical professional with extensive leadership experience in higher education, research and public health. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Environmental Epidemiology from the University of Occupational and Environmental Health, Japan, and a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the Fiji School of Medicine, University of the South Pacific.

He currently serves as Executive Director, Research and Innovation, where he has led the University's research strategy, secured significant external research funding, and strengthened national and regional research collaborations. He has also served as Acting Dean of the College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences and has an outstanding record in research, scholarly publications and international engagement.

The University looks forward to Dr Wilson's leadership in advancing research, innovation and scholarly excellence across the Fiji National University.
