Dr Amelia Raluve Turagabeci, an Associate Professor with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Medical Science from Tokyo Medical & Dental University, has been a significant figure at the School of Public Health, College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences (CMNHS), since 2008.

She has held various administrative roles, including Head of Department and Acting Head of School at the College through the course of her career, while collaborating with regional and global universities. Her contributions extend to curriculum development and postgraduate supervision. As a transdisciplinary researcher, she leads projects like Revitalising Informal Settlements and their Environments (RISE), and the Pacific Action for Climate Transition (PACT) with Monash University, focusing on climate change and health.

She is also the lead for the AQEM project in Fiji, in collaboration with universities from Australia and the UK. Currently, as the Acting Dean of CMNHS, Dr Turagabeci is dedicated to maintaining and enhancing the institution's status as the premier health training institution in the Pacific.
