Mr Salabogi L. Mavoa, currently the Acting Dean of the College of Engineering, Technical, and Vocational Education Training (CETVET) and the Principal Instructor (TVET) in the Department of Electronics at the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Fiji National University (FNU), has an extensive educational background. His qualifications include a Masters in Business Administration (MBA), a Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Analytical Skills for Managers, a Postgraduate Certificate in Financial Management from the University of the South Pacific, a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) from the Bolton Institute of Higher Education (UK), and specialised training in avionics, telecommunication engineering, high voltage transmission, programmable logic controls, and more.
His career spans roles from a technician at the Fiji Broadcasting Commission to managerial and academic positions at the Fiji Institute of Technology (FIT) and FNU. Mr Mavoa has significantly contributed to educational development by developing new Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degrees in Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering, initiating the accreditation process for these programmes and new Diploma (Level 6) programmes, and realigning Certificate 3 and Certificate 4 rams. He holds a Broadcast Technician Certificate, a Cisco CCNA Instructor qualification, and a Certificate 4 in Business Evaluation. Additionally, Mr Mavoa has been actively involved in professional activities, serving on the National TVET Committee, the Construction Industry Council, and the Mining and Quarrying Council.
