The Fiji National University (FNU) has opened applications for Semester 1, 2027, giving school leavers, working professionals, and interested individuals looking to further their education, the opportunity to find a programme that suits their goals and future plans.
Applications opened last week and will close on 5 February 2027. With programmes available across FNU’s 17 campuses nationwide, prospective students can choose from a wide range of study options, from Certificate-level programmes through to Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) qualifications.
FNU Vice-Chancellor, Professor Unaisi Nabobo-Baba, said the University remained committed to making quality education accessible to people from all walks of life.
“Education has the power to transform lives, strengthen communities and build a more resilient nation. Semester 1 presents another opportunity for individuals to invest in themselves and take meaningful steps towards a brighter future,” said Professor Nabobo-Baba.
She encouraged school leavers, those considering a career change and working professionals looking to upgrade their skills to explore the opportunities available at FNU.
“We want every Fijian to know that it is never too late to learn. Whether you are starting your academic journey, returning to complete your studies or looking to build new skills for an evolving job market, FNU has programmes that can help you move forward,” the Vice-Chancellor added.
Professor Nabobo-Baba also encouraged prospective students to apply early and seek advice before making their final choice.
“Choosing a qualification is an important decision. We encourage applicants to visit their nearest FNU campus and speak with our academic teams, who are ready to provide advice and guidance to help them choose a programme that is right for them and their future,” she further stated.
FNU’s broad range of programmes reflects the University’s commitment to preparing students for the world of work while also supporting lifelong learning, innovation and further study.
Professor Nabobo-Baba said FNU’s focus on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), higher education and research gives students the opportunity to develop practical knowledge, relevant skills and the confidence to contribute in their chosen fields.
“At FNU, we are not simply preparing students for employment. We are helping them develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to become innovators, leaders and contributors to their families, communities and the nation,” she explained.
For recent high school leavers, the application process requires a Birth Certificate, Tax Identification Number (TIN) and correct Index Number. Mature applicants are encouraged to bring their Curriculum Vitae (CV), academic results and transcripts to support their applications.
Applicants can visit any of FNU’s 17 campuses across Fiji, where academic staff will be available to assist with applications and provide information about programmes, study options and possible career pathways.
