
Dr Glenn Finau
Glenn Finau is an experienced accounting academic, researcher, and finance professional with a strong record in higher education, research leadership, and regional development work in the Pacific.
He holds a PhD (2020) from the University of New South Wales (ADFA), a Master of Commerce (Accounting) (2014), a Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting (2011), and a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Information Systems (2006), all from the University of the South Pacific. He also completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Tertiary Teaching (2015).
His professional career spans both academia and practice. He is currently a Senior Lecturer in Accounting at the University of Tasmania (2022–present), having previously served as Lecturer (2020–2022) and Business Coordinator (2017–2020) at the same institution. Earlier roles include Assistant Lecturer at the University of New South Wales (ADFA), Tutor and Assistant Lecturer at the University of the South Pacific, and Auditor at Ernst & Young (Fiji) Ltd.
Dr Finau has contributed to several competitive research and development projects. These include the “Yarning for Resilient and Healthy People and Environment in Oceania” (2026), funded by the French Embassy, focusing on Indigenous-led climate resilience and policy collaboration across the Pacific.
He is also engaged in the Climate Finance Readiness and Project Development Support programme for Tuvalu (2025–2026), delivered through the University of Melbourne, strengthening national capacity in climate finance access and project development.
In addition, he serves as Co-Investigator on the Doing Research Assessment (Fiji) project (2024–2026), funded by the Global Development Network, examining research systems, policy incentives, and academic capacity in Fiji.
His work integrates accounting expertise, research development, and Pacific-focused climate and institutional capacity building, contributing significantly to regional knowledge systems and sustainable development initiatives.
