The Fiji National University (FNU), through its National Training and Productivity Centre (NTPC), is preparing to host the 26th Fiji Business Excellence Awards (FBEA) this Saturday, 8 November.

The prestigious annual event will bring together leaders from government, academia, and the private sector to celebrate organisations that embody excellence, innovation, and resilience in Fiji’s evolving business landscape.

The Awards, established in 1998, remain the country’s highest recognition of organisational performance and productivity. More than just an accolade, they provide a practical framework that guides businesses toward continuous improvement, efficiency, and long-term sustainability.

This year’s celebration aligns with FNU’s Strategic Plan 2024–2026 Priority Area 3: Innovation, Social and Technological Development, reaffirming the University’s commitment to fostering innovation, advancing technology, and driving inclusive national growth.

Bob Mitchell, Director of Productivity and Innovation at NTPC, said the Awards reflect the University’s ongoing mission to raise productivity standards while supporting Fiji’s broader development goals.

“The Fiji Business Excellence Awards are more than a night of recognition; they are a national movement,” he said.

“Fiji, like the rest of the world, is navigating rapid change, from climate challenges to digital disruption. These awards celebrate organisations that are adapting, innovating, and leading with purpose. They show us what resilience and excellence look like in action.”

The FBEA’s focus on innovation and sustainable growth directly supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), by encouraging businesses to build inclusive, productive, and technologically advanced workplaces.

This year’s event follows the success of last year’s silver-jubilee celebration, where organisations such as Future Farms Ltd (Rooster Poultry), Datec, Mark One Apparel, and the iTaukei Land Trust Board were among those honoured with the President’s Award for their outstanding commitment to excellence.

The 2024 Awards also marked 25 years of driving productivity and competitiveness across Fiji’s public and private sectors.

As the 26th awards night approaches, the excitement is building. The event promises to spotlight organisations that are embracing innovation, leveraging technology, and contributing to a more inclusive and resilient Fiji.

“The Fiji Business Excellence Awards represent our collective ambition for organisations to embrace excellence within their organisations, large or small,” Mitchell added.

“Through innovation, collaboration, and purpose, we can continue building a Fiji that thrives on quality, creativity, and sustainable progress.”

The Awards Night will take place on Saturday, 8 November 2025, at the Sheraton Fiji Resort, Denarau, with the Acting President of the Republic of Fiji and His Lordship Chief Justice Salesi Temo as Chief Guest.
