The Fiji National University (FNU) Foundation proudly acknowledges the generous contribution from Cecilia Lin, founder of Pacific Sisters, who fulfilled her promise by donating 1,000 packs of sanitary pads to support female students across FNU campuses.
This donation is a significant step forward in promoting menstrual health and dignity for young women in tertiary education, many of whom face financial challenges in accessing essential hygiene products. The contribution will directly support FNU’s ongoing Veilomani Initiative, which includes the Veilomani Pantry — a student support program providing basic necessities to students in need.
New Zealand Senior High Schooler Cecilia Lin, a passionate advocate for women’s empowerment and equity, made the pledge earlier this year during a discussion with the FNU Foundation team, expressing her commitment to addressing period poverty in Fiji. True to her word, she delivered the full consignment to the Foundation, reinforcing the strong ties between socially responsible businesses and the education sector.
Executive Director of the FNU Foundation, Alumni and Impact Assessment, Ms Karen Lobendahn, expressed her gratitude for the second round of donation from Ms Lin.
“This donation goes beyond material support — it restores dignity, boosts confidence, and allows our students to focus on their education without unnecessary barriers. We are deeply grateful to Cecilia and Pacific Sisters for this heartfelt and impactful gesture.”
The FNU Foundation looks forward to continuing partnerships with individuals and organisations like Pacific Sisters that share its mission of empowering students through compassion, community, and collaboration.
Together, we are not just meeting needs — we are building futures.
