The Fiji National University Division of Marketing and Communication Marketing Specialist, Eroni Navunisaravi with Punjas Chief Marketing Officer, Gopal Jadhav.
In a powerful show of community spirit and commitment to education, Punjas has proudly partnered with the Fiji National University (FNU) Foundation to support students facing financial hardship.
As one of the Pacific’s largest privately-owned consumer goods companies, Punjas has long been a household name in Fiji. Now, the Lautoka-based family-run business is extending its legacy beyond commerce—by giving back to the future of Fiji: its students.
The company’s generous donation of essential goods will be directed to the Veilomani Food Pantry, a flagship initiative under the FNU Foundation. The pantry was established to combat food insecurity and provide students with access to nutritious food—no questions asked. More than just a meal, it offers peace of mind, allowing students to concentrate on their studies rather than their next meal.
The FNU Foundation, launched to extend support beyond the classroom, also leads initiatives like Scholarships and Student Support, the Coffee Forward Initiative, and the Veilomani Closet, all aimed at removing obstacles that prevent students from achieving their full potential.
“We are proud to receive this invaluable support from Punjas,” said an FNU spokesperson.
“This partnership goes a long way in helping create an inclusive and nurturing environment for our students.”
Gopal Jadhav, Chief Marketing Officer at Punjas, echoed the company’s long-standing commitment to social responsibility.
“As we celebrate 90 years of serving the Pacific, giving back to the community remains at the heart of who we are,” Jadhav said.
“We’re honoured to support the Veilomani Food Pantry initiative and wish the team continued success in making a difference.”
Through the FNU Foundation, the university is striving to break down financial barriers and empower the next generation—ensuring that every student has the opportunity to thrive.
