SCOPE
This course provides training for officers and ratings who have not previously worked on board liquefied gas tankers as part of the regular complement and meets the mandatory requirements for training ship’s crews – Reg. V/1-2 Para. 1&2, Sec A- V/1-2 Para. 1, Table A-V/1-2-1 of the STCW 78 as amended in 2010. The course includes basic safety and pollution-prevention precautions and procedures, layouts of different types of liquefied gas tankers, types of cargo, their hazards and their handling equipment, general operational sequence and liquefied gas tanker terminology.

The Ministry Course Approval Number is MTP/01/SS-316/2014.

LEARNING OBJECTIVE
On completion of the course the trainees will be able to;
Assume duties and responsibilities according to Table V/1-2-1 of the STCW 78 as amended in 2010.

Total Duration = 03 days

ENTRY STANDARDS / LEARNER STATUS
Will be not less than 18 years of age on the date of the commencement of the examination for the issue of the certificate;
Have completed:
BASIC TRAINING IN TRAINING IN ACCORDANCE WITH PROVISIONS OF SECTION A-VI/1 OF STCW CODE (PROFICIENCY IN SURVIVAL TECHNIQUES, PROFICIENCY IN PERSONAL SAFETY & SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES, PROFICIENCY IN FIRE PREVENTION & FIRE FIGHTING & PROFICIENCY IN ELEMENTARY FIRST AID, TANKER FAMILIARIZATION)

COURSE INTAKE LIMITATIONS

  • Number of Students not to exceed 30.
  • As per the student number adequate classrooms/ laboratories/ workshops/ other facilities to be provided.
