Daksh Mudliar, a Year 10 student from Savusavu Secondary School, dreams of making his mother proud.
Daksh lost his father when he was just three months old, and his mother, who lives with a physical disability, has been his greatest inspiration. His older sister, now 18, cares for their mother and sometimes works for neighbours to help support the family.
Despite the challenges, Daksh remains determined. He was among the 300 students who attended the Fiji National University’s Open Day at Naduna Campus today.
“For me, my aim is to be successful in life. After visiting FNU today, I have made up my mind to pursue a career in business. Now I know exactly the requirements for FNU and I’m familiar with the subject combinations I need to take next year,” he said.
Daksh thanked both FNU and his school for giving him the opportunity to attend the Open Day, calling it a turning point in helping him plan for his future.
