Mindar Wateorea came to Fiji four years ago to pursue her Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry from the Fiji National University (FNU).
Today, she is all set to return to her homeland, Malaita Province in the Solomon Islands, with a proud achievement—her bachelor’s degree.
During the FNU graduation ceremony at the Vodafone Arena in Suva today, Wateorea stood proudly receiving her degree.
“This is a dream come true,” Wateorea said.
“I feel my hard work has finally paid off.”
“I came to Fiji with a dream, and now I am returning full of pride, knowing I have achieved the seeds I planted.”
Her passion for animals motivated her throughout her studies.
“It was my love and passion for animal care that inspired me to pursue this course,” she shared.
“I grew up around my pets back home, and I always felt an emotional attachment with them.
This attachment made me long to do something meaningful for animals, which is why I took up this course.”
“When I go back home, I want to utilise my education to provide care to animals and make a difference in their lives.”
