Savenaca Waqabaca hails from the beautiful island of Moce in the Lau Group.

Despite being visually impaired, Savenaca was determined to pursue further studies, as he had always dreamt of working in an office.

He is currently a first-year student pursuing studies in Office Administration, with a keen interest in typing.

Affectionately known as Save around the FNU Nasinu Campus, he said that people are often surprised by how well he can type.

“I enjoy typing, and most people are fascinated by how I navigate my hands around the home keys on the computer keyboard!”

He added that his first-year experience as a student has been wonderful and that he is grateful to his newfound family at the FNU Disability Centre.

“Choosing FNU was one of the best decisions I have ever made!”

Save was among the first students to visit the booths at the FNU Careers Fair, and wherever he went, cheerful laughter and his lively troupe followed closely behind.

“The Careers Fair is fun and insightful for me as a first-year student. It helps me understand what employers look for in future employees. After this visit, I’m looking forward to being employed at Mindpearl after graduation, as it’s close to my residence. This way, I can take care of my mum at home and support my family back in Lau while having a job.”
