Amidst the vibrant atmosphere of the FNU Open Day, Malakai Koroirara, a teacher from Navua Vashisth Muni High School, shared his perspective on the university’s programmes. As a strong advocate for his students, he was particularly keen on the Industrial Arts programmes, hoping to inspire them to pursue these fields.

“It’s crucial for my students to attend the FNU Open Day,” Mr Koroirara explained. “It provides them with a firsthand look at the opportunities available. Seeing the facilities, meeting current students, and speaking with lecturers can truly ignite their passion and clarify their future paths.”

Mr Koroirara was notably impressed by FNU’s approach to education and student engagement. “FNU’s hands-on approach, particularly in programmes like Industrial Arts, really stands out. The emphasis on practical skills and real-world application is exactly what our students need to thrive in their careers.”

To better support high schools and their students, Mr Koroirara suggested that “FNU could enhance its outreach programmes, providing more workshops and seminars for high school students. This would give them a head start, familiarising them with the demands of tertiary studies and bridging the gap between secondary and higher education.”
