Student Guides Share Their Experience at FNU Open Day 2

FNU Open Day guides and ambassadors

The Fiji National University’s Open Day 2025 not only welcomed thousands of secondary school students but also gave current FNU students the chance to step up as guides and ambassadors.

Among them were Mereoni Mateiwai, Biu Rokovanadrotini, and Amelia Donu, who said the experience of guiding students around campus was both rewarding and inspiring.

Mereoni said she was delighted to be part of the event. “Being a student guide at FNU Open Day has been such a rewarding experience. I’ve really enjoyed meeting students from different schools and sharing with them what life at FNU is like. It feels great to know that we’re helping future students find the right path.”

For Biu, the highlight was seeing how inspired secondary students were, as they toured the campus. “Guiding students around campus has shown me how important events like this are. Many of them are seeing the university for the first time, and you can tell they’re inspired. I’m proud to play a small part in encouraging them to dream bigger,” he said.

Amelia added that the role was about more than just giving directions. “As a student guide, I’ve loved answering questions and helping secondary students explore the programmes on offer. It’s not just about giving directions – it’s about making them feel welcome and excited about their future at FNU.”
