Proud Alumnus Celebrates School’s 100th Anniversary and Inspires Students

VuniamatanaNasautoka village in Tailevu proudly celebrated the 100th anniversary of Nasautoka District School. Among the attendees was Vuniamatana, a fourth-year student studying Urban and Regional Planning at Fiji National University (FNU).Vuniamatana grew up in Nasautoka and attended the same school from kindergarten to Year 8. Today, he returned to support the school and its students.

He expressed his gratitude for the role the school played in shaping his future. “I am thankful to the school which helped me reach FNU and pursue my dreams,” he said.
Vuniamatana also took part in the Careers Expo organised by FNU. “I come to this school and cherish my primary school memories,” he added.

He reflected on how much the school had changed over the years. “A lot has changed, and the school has educated hundreds of students who are now in high school, university, or working,” he said.
He praised the teachers who guided him. “I am very thankful to the teachers who taught me and motivated me. They helped me reach FNU and pursue my goals,” he said.

Vuniamatana described the moment as a proud one. “It’s a proud moment for me to return to my roots and share with students how FNU is helping craft my future and theirs,” he explained.
