Naomi Marama, a Year 13 student from Nayala High School, visited the Fiji National University (FNU) open day at Nasinu Campus with a clear and determined purpose: to explore the diverse opportunities within FNU’s College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences.

Eager to pursue a career in healthcare, Naomi was keen to learn about the programmes available to help her achieve her dream.

“I have many options in mind, such as becoming a nurse, doctor, dietitian, physiotherapist, or surgeon,” she explained.

“Before I leave today, I want to make the right decision about my future.”

Impressed by the displays and presentations by the college team, Naomi expressed her admiration.

“I really liked the way the College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences showcased their programmes. It made me even more excited about a career in medicine,” she said.

Naomi’s inspiration stems from the many FNU graduates she’s seen in her village, including nurses who serve as role models.

“I believe the medical field is my calling because I see many successful FNU graduates making a difference. They inspire me to pursue this path,” she added.

With her sights set on joining FNU next year, Naomi’s enthusiasm reflects her determination to make a difference.
