Iliesa Taupolu

Iliesa Taupolu was thrilled to attend the FNU Open Day at Nasinu Campus.

Hailing from the stunning country with palm-fringed beaches, New Caledonia, he explored the university and discovered more about his future opportunities.

Initially, the Year 10 student at Church College Fiji had come to Fiji in 2024 to learn English, but after participating in the FNU Open Day, he now has a bigger dream.

His visit to the College of Engineering and Technical Vocational Education and Training (CETVET) changed his plans.

“I want to become an engineer,” he said, adding “The visit changed my plans. Meeting the engineering lecturers and seeing the displays made me realise I want to pursue this path and lead the way for my younger siblings.”

“Now I want to stay longer in Fiji and study engineering.”

Taupolu’s story proves that dreams can begin with a simple visit.
