FNU Students Turn Food Stall into Fundraising Success at Open Day

Bachelor of Education (Industrial Arts) students

A group of first-year Bachelor of Education (Industrial Arts) students from the Fiji National University have taken a creative and entrepreneurial approach to support their studies — by selling food at the FNU Open Day, currently underway at the Nasinu Campus.

The group, who go by the name ‘Taroga Tale’, is made up of five dedicated students: Thomas Baker, Nehemiah Gunuwai, Tevita Tuevu, Montgomery Ofati, and Seru Maramadei.

They have come together with a shared goal: to raise funds that will go directly toward their class projects and academic needs.

“We are thankful that we were provided a tent where we are able to make breakfast and lunch to sell,” said Baker.

“All the money that we get is part of our savings, which caters for all our projects.”

He added, “As students, we must learn to be independent and understand the importance of saving as a backup for rainy days. Thank you to FNU for giving us a space where we could be doing this.”

The Taroga Tale group is stationed opposite the College of Business, Hospitality and Tourism Studies building, where they are serving hot meals and refreshments to Open Day attendees.
