For Nasavusavu Special School students, Tanoa Talou and Maria Teila, the FNU Open Day last week was their very first visit to the Fiji National University. They joined hundreds of others at Naduna Campus for the 2025 FNU Open Day, but for them, the experience carried a special meaning.

Tanoa said after exploring the campus, he now dreams of becoming a doctor one day.

“I really enjoyed coming here. I’ve learned that education is inclusive and that there are no barriers to being successful in life,” he said.

Despite the challenges he faces every day, Tanoa says nothing will stop him from chasing his dream.

The duo thanked their school for giving them the chance to visit FNU and discover what the future could hold.
