Esther Maio Fili left her home in Tuvalu with her family to pursue her Postgraduate Diploma in Midwifery.

“We have a shortage of midwives in my country and so when I was given the oppurtunity to study at the Pacific’s best medical school, I was ready to sacrifice the comfort of my home. Today, I am a proud graduate, every sacrifice was worth it.

Esther now looks forward to returning to Tuvalu to serve her community and contribute to strengthening maternal and newborn care in her island home.
