Chahyal Kumar, a student from Nadi, has successfully completed her two-year Diploma in Customs and is reflecting on a journey marked by hard work, resilience, and unexpected opportunities.
Kumar described her experience as both enjoyable and challenging.
“It was a great two years, and I had a lot of fun. I made many friends,” she said.
“In the beginning, it was difficult because there was a lot of work, but you have to put in the effort to get there.”
She said that the coursework was “easy and hard at the same time,” depending on how one approached studying. Staying alert in class, she joked, was sometimes another challenge.
Kumar’s decision to enter the customs field was not planned.
“It was a sudden decision. I never thought about it, but when the opportunity came, I took it,” she said.
Over time, she developed a deep appreciation for the field, calling it “one of the most beautiful things” she has come to know.
