Unit Name: Pearl Farming

Description: This unit allows students to be able to understand the history and benefits of pearl farming, biology of pearl oyster, spat collection, pearl oyster hanging and husbandry, nucleus implantation, nucleus implantation for half pearls, disease and other causes of oyster death, general farm management, handling and transportation, sales of pearls and pearl products.
