Unit Name: Sports Internship 1

Description: This course will be offered in two modules. The first module prepares you for the industrial attachments. The second requires you to work in any of the following industries (i) fitness centres (ii) Leisure and recreation industry, hotel or resort recreational departments and sports industries. The Department\\\'s academic staff will closely monitor and evaluate your progress through your respective Sports Internship Supervisors and provide assistance on pro rata basis. In keeping with the requirements of the Sports Internship I, you are required to keep a record of all your involvements and the activities or tests conducted during your attachment periods. Furthermore, you will keep a daily attendance and diary to record the work you perform each day.Your supervisors will examine in detail all records required during the period of your internship. At the end of your internship period you will prepare an oral presentation to report your experiences, projects and assessments you have undertaken during your attachment. Moreover, you are mandated to submit a written report to your lecturer prior to delivering your presentation. Presentation schedules will be confirmed after consultation with your Department Lecturer.
