Unit Name: Psychiatry III
Description: PSY830 is the second year of the Master of Medicine in Psychiatry programme developed to address the need for Specialist Psychiatrist in the Pacific. It utilizes the prior knowledge and skills attained during the study of the postgraduate Diploma in Mental Health (DMH801) and the completed years of the formal Master of Medicine in Psychiatry (PSY 820) to enable the candidate to function as a trainee specialist. PSY830 will continue to be delivered by blended mode. Trainees will spend this year focusing on advancing their skills in the length and breadth of psychiatric practice, in preparation for the final examinations. Following on from MED811, candidates should also spend this year advancing their research and ensuring that all necessary approvals such as ethical approval are secured.
