Unit Name: Water Heating Services

Description: This unit aims to provide the supporting theory to workshop practice. Enables preparation of annotated sketches to describe the design and construction of the key components used in hot water installation, draw up a scheme for the hot water installation, produce schedules for a proposed hot water installation, and prepare work instructions to describe a hot water installation, and compile a basic checklist to inspect a hot water installation.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. Describe and understand the skills and knowledge required to install water heating systems. 2. Describe and utilize skills to plan and prepare and carry out material selections. 3. Explain pipe sizing as per requirements 4. Compare various types of heaters and their installation requirements 5. Relate skills to test and commission the water heating systems
