Unit Name: Cold Water Practice

Description: Learning is based on a series of practical exercises to progress the accuracy and drawing techniques of the student. The student will be able produce two and three dimensional drawings, industrial standard drawings, measure elements ad components to produce lists and schedules. Wholly covers all types of Development techniques to cover sophisticated layout patterns on pipes and sheetmetals construction applications.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. Express and utilize the correct tools/machines for the particular operations with respective types of pipes and fittings. 2. Describe various jointing systems/concepts for different types of pipes. 3. Explain and Install Direct and Indirect systems of cold water supply with all the fittings and fixtures in domestic dwellings, and commercial buildings according to water bye-laws and specifications. 4. Describe and connect the cold water service pipe from the Water Main to the premises and fixtures according to the local water bye-laws and specifications. 5. Carry out tests for workmanship and materials for above and below-ground installations, identifies possible cause(s) of faults, and recommend repair procedures.
