Unit Name: Industrial Instrumentation

Description: This is an introduction to Instrumentation and practices and their uses in residential, commercial, and industrial applications. This unit enable the development of the elementary knowledge and skills required for industrial instrumentation and automation for engineering trades trainees.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, you should be able to: 1. Apply knowledge and understanding of the basic fundamentals and principles of industrial instrumentation and applications and Apply knowledge and understanding of the components of industrial automation and Introduction to PLC. 2. Demonstrate the use of measuring instruments such as level, and pressure and demonstrate the effects and advantages of measuring instruments such as level, pressure and temperature sensors, temperature gauges. 3. Demonstrate the use of flow meters and vibration measuring instruments. 4. Use a wide range of skills to distinguish the difference between, Decimal, Binary, Hexadecimal and Octal numbers and Logic Gates and Understand the components of industrial automation.
