Unit Code: PME314

Unit Name: Workshop Calculation B

Description: The purpose of this Unit is to provide participants with the skills, knowledge and attitudes required to perform fundamental mathematical procedures and processes for solution of engineering problems, particularly the use of vector analysis and Linear Motion series. The subject aims to show the relevance of mathematics to engineering and applied sciences. This Unit, in conjunction with Engineering Mechanics, also facilitates articulation to Certificate courses in all streams of Engineering and forms a basis for more specialist branches of mathematics.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, students should be able to: 1. Measure lengths of Engineering Materials. 2. Calculate areas and volumes of different shapes or sizes of materials given on the worksite.
