Unit Name: Professional Practice 2

Description: Students will acquire and will be expected to demonstrate professional physiotherapy practice including knowledge and skills on leadership, teamwork and management and administration strategies, management of complex cases emphasizing ethical dilemma resolution, physiotherapy and the law. Students are provided the opportunity to increase knowledge and skills in areas of specialisation in physiotherapy.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, the students will be able to: 1. Discuss and demonstrate knowledge of management and administration, leadership and teamwork in professional practice. 2. Discuss and demonstrate knowledge and application of relevant laws and health care legislation which guide clinical practice. 3. Demonstrate informed professional practice, interaction and clinical decision making skills using reflective practice and clinical reasoning principles with specific emphasis on working in resource constraint environments. 4. Demonstrate competency in specialist areas of practice including Interplast training (burns, tendon injury reconstructive surgery) Prosthetics and Orthotics and Assistive Technology (WSTP Basic)
