Unit Name: Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy 2

Description: This course is designed to advance students\' knowledge and skills in the area of cardiorespiratory physiotherapy. Focus will be on the physiotherapy management of people with acute and chronic cardiorespiratory conditions in a range of settings: such as those with surgical conditions,medical conditions and those in critical care.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, the students will be able to: 1. Analyse and compare Obstructive Conditions of the Respiratory System. 2. Analyse and compare Restrictive Conditions of the Respiratory System. 3. Analyse and Compare Infective Conditions of the Respiratory conditions. 4. Analyse and Compare Cardiovascular conditions. 5. Discuss and Apply physiotherapy management in Critical Care: Burns and ICU. 6. Apply appropriate physiotherapy interventions. 7. Appraise research evidence on cardiorespiratory pathology and management.
