Unit Name: Professional Practice 1

Description: This course includes ethics and professional issues that encompasses the physiotherapy practice. The use of clinical reasoning, reflective learning and evidence based practice to enhance management skills. It also includes communication and planning in the workplace and inter-professional relationships.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, the students will be able to: 1. Analyse and discuss ethical and professional issues pertaining to the practice of physiotherapy. 2. Demonstrate competence in professional interaction, client-PT communication, and documentation. 3. Identify and demonstrate effective use of electro physical agents in physiotherapy practice. 4. Discuss issues relating to occupational health and safety in relation to the physiotherapy profession – ergonomics, education on safe practices.
