Unit Name: Fitness in Health & Disease 2

Description: This unit offers learners the opportunity to actively learn, understand and apply exercise for health benefit in individuals with chronic diseases, as well as to enhance sports performance among athletes. This course will examine the use of exercise to achieve wellness and fitness as a strategy to promote health and prevent complications of chronic diseases among patient population. It will also cover exercise prescription in chronic disease conditions, enhance performance skill-related fitness and injury prevention and management.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, the students will be able to: 1. Effectively prescribe and implement exercise for health in cardiovascular and respiratory diseases 2. Effectively prescribe and implement exercise for health in metabolic and mental Illness 3. Effectively prescribe and implement exercise for health in chronic musculoskeletal disorder 4. Effectively prescribe and implement exercise for health in chronic organ diseases 5. Develop and Implement performance-related fitness plan 6. Develop strategies to prevent sports injuries and implementing first aid 7. Prepare for and respond to medical emergencies
