Unit Name: Physiology 2

Description: This unit offers learners the opportunity to establish knowledge of the normal structure and physiology of the nervous system, endocrinal system, male and female reproductive system, renal and digestive system.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, the students will be able to: 1. Outline and discuss structure of neuron and physiological characteristics; general overview nervous system and its structure and functions. 2. Outline and describe somatic motor pathway - structure and function of its components. 3. Describe somatic sensory pathway – structure and function of its components. 4. Describe and outline visceral motor pathways (namely sympathetic and parasympathetic) - structure and function of its components. 5. Outline and explain the structure, function, physiological characteristics and regulation of the male and female reproductive system. 6. Outline and describe the general function of the endocrine system, the structure and function, physiological characteristics and regulation of the specific endocrinal glands. 7. Outline and describe structure and function of the digestive tract and its accessory glands. 8. Outline and explain the structure and function of the renal system and its physiological characteristics.
