Unit Name: Endocrine Pharmacology & Special Topics

Description: This year\'s curriculum is thoughtfully divided into two comprehensive blocks, each focusing on distinct and engaging aspects of pharmacology. The first block emphasizes neuropharmacology, providing an in-depth exploration of the pharmacological management of common endocrine disorders. The second block shifts attention to special topics in pharmacology, offering a diverse range of specialized subjects within the field. These include ocular pharmacology, toxicology, pharmacognosy, antineoplastic drugs and immunosuppressants. This structured approach aims to provide students with both foundational knowledge and specialized expertise, equipping them to navigate the complexities of pharmacological sciences with confidence and competence.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. Discuss the pharmacological management of endocrine disorders. 2. Discuss the pharmacological management of ocular conditions. 3. Explain the pharmacological properties of antineoplastics. 4. Explain the pharmacological properties of immunosuppressants. 5. Explain the pharmacological properties of antidotes. 6. Describe the core principles of pharmacognosy.
