Unit Name: Sports Physiology

Description: This unit is an introduction of Physiology to the area of Physical Education applying the knowledge of body systems, exercise prescription and sports injury. The content includes the theoretical background for students to examine the effect of exercise on the body as well as a basic foundation in the skills of sports most commonly taught in secondary schools. Throughout the unit, the strategies for the teaching of these skills will be a major focus.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, students will be able to: 1.2.1. Adopt enterprising and innovative ways to enhance learning and thinking 1.2.2. Identify and explain different methods of managing finance, budgeting and personal finance. 1.2.3. Demonstrate innovation and enterprise in planning, designing, budgeting and implementing projects 1.2.4.Develop problem solving, decision making and evaluating risks skills 1.2.5. Utilize technology and local resources in creative ways in developing teaching resources and teaching aids. 1.2.6. Demonstrate innovative and creative skills in sustainable and conservation practices in the local environment 1.2.7. Apply skills acquired from software programs in presentations in selected topical areas 1.2.8. Apply enterprise and life skills in health and enrichment areas
