Unit Name: Public Health Master Thesis Implementation

Description: This course is designed for students to implement their master’s thesis that consists of an original body of work based on individual research, the analysis of an existing database, or a directed and comprehensive analytical review, such as a program evaluation, of an existing body of literature or other sources. Moreover, students will be examined by an Internal and an External Examiner on three (3) out of the four (4) assessments, namely the Oral Presentation, Written Thesis and Viva.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, the students will be able to: 1. Implement the data collection procedures stipulated in the research proposal. 2. Implement data cleaning and management. 3. Utilize appropriate analyzing methods to test the hypothesis and answer the research question(s) in the research proposal. 4. Discuss the research findings in a manner which links existing knowledge to the research proposal in a way that expands the current body of knowledge by highlighting and addressing a gap in the current literature. 5. Prepare the master’s thesis write-up for presentation to and defence from a panel of content area experts from both within and outside the University. 6. Prepare the master’s thesis in readiness for presentation at conference/meetings; as well as draft write-up for publication in academic, peer-reviewed journals.
