Unit Name: Ophthalmology IV

Description: This course will further develop student’s clinical and procedural skills in Ophthalmology. The students will need to demonstrate clinical maturity such that they are able to diagnose and manage eye conditions and diseases with high levels of complexity. They would be abel to perform basic ophthalmic surgeries and other procedures as explained in the learning outcomes for the course.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, the students will be able to: 1. Perform highly complex refraction and write spectacles prescription. 2. Propose a management plan for highly complex corneal and external eye problems. 3. Generate a management plan for highly complicated cataract and other lens conditions. 4. Generate a plan for the management of primary and secondary glaucoma. 5. Generate a plan for the management of severe uveitis. 6. Generate a plan to manage highly complex retinal conditions. 7. Generate a plan to manage Neuro-Ophthalmological conditions. 8. Generate a plan to manage Orbital Conditions. 9. Perform complex oculoplastic procedures. 10. Generate a plan to manage complex eye conditions in children. 11. Formulate a plan to manage Low Vision. 12. Organize collection of ocular samples and histopathological slides. 13. Generate a plan to manage ocular neoplasms.
